The RADIUS Fellowship

The RADIUS Fellowship is Metro Vancouver’s preeminent professional development opportunity for top emerging social innovators from across the region.

During the intensive 4-month experience Fellows build relationships with their peers, develop personally and professionally, and tap into the broader social innovation and social entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Applications for the 2018 cohort will be open from October 17 to November 4. The Fellowship will run from February 6 to May 29, 2018.

2018 RADIUS Fellowship

Are you a RADIUS Fellow?

Who do you surround yourself with?

We are looking for the next generation of untamed social innovators who are early in their changemaking journey, demonstrating a relentless dedication to creating positive, sustainable impact in all they do.

Ideal Fellows are those who want to make a 4-month commitment to developing their leadership capacity, building their professional networks, and generously supporting their peers. A curious and collaborative mindset is a prerequisite.

The Fellowship is exploring thematic clusters and is particularly interested in applicants with interest, expertise or projects in the following areas:

  • Health Promotion
  • Refugee and Newcomer Settlement and Integration
  • Future of Work/Precarious Employment
  • Future of Education

We also seek to support Fellows whose craft is relevant to all sectors, particularly if you are interested in supporting the thematic areas listed above.

  • You are unhappy with the status quo and working to build better solutions.
  • You’ve got a track record of working on projects that matter to you and society.
  • You recognize you can’t do it alone and you are radically generous in your approach to working with others.

  • You explore the interfaces between the systemic and the particular, and seek understand causes and effects at various scales.
  • You experiment and take risks. When it doesn’t work out, you ask why? And then you try again.

The Fellows program suits recent alumni and young professionals who self-identify as changemakers, social innovators, or social entrepreneurs. It is designed to be complementary to someone studying or working full- or part-time, with predominantly evening sessions.

The Fellowship experience

Intended to identify, profile, support and catalyze top emerging social innovators, the Fellowship will help foster the community, support, skills and tools needed to create deep social impact and pursue work with purpose.

RADIUS Fellows will:

  • gather for weekly evening cohort sessions;
  • form meaningful relationships with each other and others in the RADIUS network;
  • receive personal development coaching from a certified coach; 
  • give and receive regular feedback within the cohort in an effort to help one another;
  • gain access to local social innovation events;
  • receive membership at the RADIUS Hub co-working space for work and meetings;
  • connect with dozens of mentors, coaches, leaders, peers and innovators;
  • be profiled on the RADIUS website and social media channels; and
  • eat, drink, discuss, and collaborate with a collection of amazing other Fellows.
Deadlines & Timelines


The RADIUS Fellowship runs February 6, 2018 to May 29, 2018. We meet weekly on Tuesday nights from 6-9pm.

Applications are open from Oct 17 – Nov 4, 2017

  • Each application is reviewed by a panel of staff and alumni.
  • Interviews will be held in November.
  • Offers will be made to Fellows in December.

Acceptance into the Fellowship is contingent on a commitment to dedicate a minimum of 25 hours per month to the program, and attend all sessions including the following: 

  • 1 weekend (overnight) retreat (Feb 10-11);
  • 1 mid-point day-long retreat (April); and
  • 1 half-day closing celebration (June). 

Program cost 

The Fellowship has a $5000 delivery cost per participant. Thanks to the support of our funding partners we are able to offer a sliding scale fee to ensure accessibility (ranging from $500 to $5000 + GST, paid in up to 4 instalments). If you are unable to pay the minimum of $500, please contact the program manager.
